Privacy Policy

Last updated: 6 November 2026

Foldroute is published by THINKLAB LLC, 17434 Bellflower Blvd, Ste 200-177, Bellflower, CA 90706. It is a single-player puzzle game with no accounts and no sign-in. We do not ask for your name, email address or phone number, we do not build a profile of you, we do not track you across other companies' apps and websites, and we do not sell or share your personal information. The game does use a few services, listed below, for anonymous play statistics, crash reports, ads and purchases. Where you live decides whether the statistics and crash reports are on until you turn them off, or off until you turn them on.

1. What the game stores on your device

Your progress lives on your device: solved boards and stars, your Daily Fold history, settings, hint and ad counters, the choices you made on the privacy screens, and the year of birth you gave on the age screen. We do not receive a copy of this, and deleting the app deletes it.

2. Anonymous play statistics and crash reports

The game can send anonymous statistics about how it is played (for example that a board was started or solved, how many folds were used, which hint was used, which settings are changed, and the app version, device model, operating system and approximate region) and crash reports (what went wrong and the state of the device when it did). This is used to fix problems and to tune the difficulty of the boards. It does not include your name or contact details. The services that do this are:

ServiceUsed forProvider
Firebase AnalyticsAnonymous play statisticsGoogle
Firebase CrashlyticsCrash reportsGoogle
GameAnalyticsAnonymous play statisticsGameAnalytics
Firebase Remote ConfigDownloading a small settings file, so that a faulty feature can be switched off without an app updateGoogle

These services identify an installation of the game with a random identifier that the service creates; it is not linked to your name, your email address or your advertising identifier. The game uses the version of Firebase Analytics that does not collect the advertising identifier.

Your choice. If your device is set to the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Brazil or South Korea, both switches (Anonymous play statistics and Crash reports) start off, and nothing is sent until you turn them on. Everywhere else they start on, and you can turn them off at any time in Settings → Privacy options. The game works out your region from your device's language and time zone settings. If it cannot tell, it asks you as if you were in one of the regions above.

3. Ads

Foldroute is free to play and shows occasional ads between puzzles. You can also choose to watch an ad in return for an extra hint. Ads are supplied by Google AdMob and are always non-personalised: they are not chosen using a profile of you, and the game never asks permission to track you on iOS. The ad service may still process technical information such as your IP address and device identifiers to deliver and measure ads and to prevent fraud; see Google's advertising policies.

The advertising software is not started when the game opens. It starts only the first time an ad is about to be shown, either when you tap a button to watch an ad or at the first point an ad between puzzles is due. If your device is set to the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, Google's consent form is shown first, and no ad is requested unless you agree. You can change that answer at any time in Settings → Privacy options. Players who buy Plus, and players in child mode (see below), see no ads.

4. In-app purchases

Purchases are taken by Apple or Google. We never see your payment details. The game uses RevenueCat to check what you own, so that purchases are restored when you reinstall or change device. It is started only when you tap to buy or to restore a purchase.

WhoWhat they receiveWhy
Apple / GooglePayment details and store account information, under their own privacy policiesTo take the payment and issue the receipt
RevenueCatThe purchase receipt, a random app-generated ID, and the device and app versionTo confirm what you own and restore it after a reinstall

5. Leaderboards

If you use the daily leaderboard, your score is sent to Apple Game Center on iOS, or Google Play Games on Android. Those services show your scores and your player name according to your own settings with them and under their own privacy policies. We do not run our own leaderboard accounts.

6. Children

Foldroute is intended for players aged 13 and over. It is not directed to children. When the game first opens it asks for the year you were born. If that shows you are a child, or under the age at which you can consent to data processing where you live (this is 16 in some countries), the game runs in child mode: no ads, no statistics, no crash reports, and no purchases until the year of birth shows that you are older. In child mode nothing about the player is sent to the services in sections 2 to 4.

7. Your choices and rights

8. This website

The foldroute.com website sets no cookies and has no accounts or analytics of its own. The only form linked from it is the tester sign-up described in section 9. Its pages load the Nunito font from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address and browser details when you open a page; see Google's privacy policy. Our web host and Cloudflare, which delivers the site, may keep the usual server logs (such as IP address, the page requested and the time). If you email us, we use your message and address only to reply.

9. Tester sign-up

If you sign up to test Foldroute before launch, you fill in a Google Form that is hosted by Google, not by this website, and Google's privacy policy applies to it. We collect the email address you enter, whether you use an iPhone or iPad or an Android device, the Apple ID or Google Play account email if you give a different one, and your tick to say you agree. We use them only to invite you to the test through Apple's TestFlight or Google Play and to contact you about it. The answers are kept in the form's response list, which only we can open; we do not share them, other than with Apple or Google when we add you as a tester. We delete the list when testing ends. To ask us to remove your details sooner, email [email protected].

10. Changes to this policy

If a future version of the game collects anything new, this page will be updated before that version ships, and the date above will change.
